Our tailors

During 2008/2009 we benefited from a tailoring project which gave 90 people the opportunity to learn tailoring and sewing skills. Many of the people now work in small groups or work from home.

Some of the people attend the project where they make goods to sell at the Gisozi Memorial Centre or from the project to visitors. Dolls are sold in America, whilst other products are sold in the UK by returning volunteers and friends at coffee mornings, school sales etc.

Our products include dolls, giraffes, elephants, aprons and bags of all shapes and sizes.

In 2011 we received some electric sewing machines and two overlock machines brought from the UK as part of our share in a container donated by NPAC. This has made a big difference in what the students can achieve.
